Course title
Executive programme in Mega-trends & transversal skills: how to Navigate Complexity

A.A. 2025-2026

Course overview
The program “Mega-trends & Transversal Skills: How to Navigate Complexity” aims to:

  • Increase awareness of global macro-trends (AI, digitalization, sustainability, hybrid roles, generational intersections, acceleration of change) and their implications for daily work.
  • Encourage reflection on the connection between external transformation (context) and internal transformation (skills and mindset).
  • Strengthen the most in-demand transversal skills in complex, agile, and digitalized environments.
  • Develop greater individual and collective resilience in international organizational contexts.
  • Prepare people to become agents of change through relational, communication, cognitive, and self-regulation skills.

The program consists of 8 independent but interconnected modules, each focused on:

  • A globally relevant mega-trend
  • One or more key transversal skills needed to deal with that trend professionally

Modules are held over weekends (Friday/Saturday) for a total of 64 hours. The approach is experiential and applied, with interactive sessions, individual reflection, peer sharing, and simulations.
An initial assessment (developed in collaboration with our strategic partners at Eggup | Zucchetti, who have LUMSA among their longstanding academic partners) provides each participant with a personal soft skills profile, identifying areas to develop during the course.

Career development
By the end of the program, participants will:

  • Have enhanced their strategic awareness of trends impacting their role
  • Know and have practiced key soft skills to face uncertainty and complexity
  • Be able to navigate critical situations more effectively, thanks to tools in communication, stress management, and relational networking
  • Have strengthened their professional purpose and sense of agency
  • Be able to contribute more effectively to multicultural and distributed teams
  • Benefit from a shared language across colleagues and departments

Admission requirements: High school diploma (five-year program). Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Specialist degree, or a university degree awarded prior to DM 509/1999 (old system), or any equivalent foreign academic qualification recognized as suitable.

Target audience
The module is designed to foster the development of essential relational competencies required to operate effectively within complex, hybrid, and continuously evolving professional environments.

Participants will acquire the ability to enhance their communicative skills, to establish and sustain trust-based relationships, and to manage interpersonal dynamics within teams and across diverse stakeholders in a constructive manner.

Special emphasis will be placed on active listening, emotional intelligence, conflict management, and assertive communication, as well as on the theoretical and practical dimensions of reputation, positioning, and storytelling.
