Course overview
This university training course provides the first foundational tools to navigate the world of international organizations and international careers, offering introductory elements of international relations, international law, and diplomacy. This pathway brings students closer to the subjects they will explore in greater depth within their degree programs. The curriculum aims to develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills relevant to careers within international organizations, public administrations, and global governance institutions. The course is structured into four core modules, each introducing a key area of international cooperation and governance. This course allows students to participate in person in one of the international organization simulations organized by Young Organization in Brussels, Rome, Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin, New York, and Washington, D.C.
Career development
The course introduces students in to careers in international law, diplomacy, political science, and global public policy.

Admission requirements: High school diploma (five-year program). Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, Specialist degree, or a university degree awarded prior to DM 509/1999 (old system), or any equivalent foreign academic qualification recognized as suitable.
Target audience
Students enrolled in LUMSA degree programs will be given priority in the admission process. Overall, this university-level course provides students with rigorous training on the structures, principles, and tools that govern international affairs. By combining academic theory with practical application, it prepares participants for further studies and for careers in international law, diplomacy, political science, and global public policy. The program promotes critical thinking, intercultural dialogue, and strategic reasoning—skills essential to tackling the complex challenges of the 21st century.
Qualification Awarded
Certificate of Participation in the Executive Programme Soft Skills for International Organizations.
To obtain a certificate of participation, you must attend at least 80% of the training activities included in the program.
The final certificate will also be issued in Open Badge mode.
Deadline: January 30, 2026
The management reserves the right to extend the deadline for enrollment and to postpone the start of the course, respecting the deadline for its conclusion. Only failure to activate the course gives the right to be refunded of the amount paid.
Students in possession of a qualification obtained abroad will be able to send the enrollment application only after completing the form and receiving confirmation of the suitability of the qualification from the Welcome Office.
Inside the form, in the "Course chosen at LUMSA" section, they must select the following course: EXE (executive course) Italian curriculum.
Registration
All students must register their personal details in order to access LUMSA’s student services:

Application submission
The application form, completed and signed, must be sent by email to: yo@youngorganization.org
Required documents:
- Completed and signed application form;
- Copy of a valid identification document and tax code.
- For citizens of European Union countries: copy of European identity card and/or passport.
- For non-European citizens: copy of residence permit or copy of the appointment at the Police Headquarters to request a residence permit; copy of passport and visa.
- Self-certification of the qualification obtained, duly signed, or the relevant certificate indicating the grade.
- Copy of the receipt of payment of the fee due upon registration (refundable only in the event of failure to activate/not being admitted to the master's degree) to be paid by bank transfer to LUMSA - Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. IBAN code IT 47 E 03069 05020 100000300281 (specify name and surname and the title of the course in the reason for payment). Registration fees are not subject to VAT, therefore no invoice can be issued.
