Program Description and objectives
LAWGID offers an advanced interdisciplinary study path combining law, gender studies, human rights, public policy, and social justice. The program equips students with the analytical, legal, and methodological skills needed to address structural inequalities and discrimination in national, European, and international contexts.
The program is designed for students seeking careers in:
- international and European institutions,
- public administration and policymaking,
- academia and research,
- civil society and human rights organizations,
- legal practice with a focus on equality and diversity.
All students will complete semester-long study periods at the participating universities (University of Belgrade, LUMSA, University of Orebro).
Qualification obtained
Successful completion of the Erasmus Mundus LAWGID Joint Master's Programme leads to the recognition of multiple diplomas and academic titles, in accordance with the higher education systems and legal frameworks of the partner university countries, as stipulated in the LAWGID Programme Partnership Agreement.
Upon successful completion, students are awarded the following diplomas and academic titles:
- Örebro University (ORU): Master of Science
- Libera Università Maria SS. Assunta (LUMSA): First level Master
- University of Belgrade (UB): Master of Laws in Law and Gender
Admission Requirements
The eligibility requirements for enrollment in the Master in Law and Gender, Intersectionality and Diversity (LAWGID) program apply equally to all LAWGID students, including both scholarship and non-scholarship applicants.
Applicants must hold one of the following academic qualifications:
- a bachelor's degree equivalent to 180 ECTS, completed within a three-year academic program, or
- a bachelor's degree equivalent to 240 ECTS, completed within a four-year academic program, or
- integrated academic studies, i.e., a Master's degree in academic studies with at least 300 ECTS.
There are no minimum grade or minimum admission requirements.
According to the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's program rules, applicants in their final year of undergraduate studies are also eligible, but must graduate before starting the LAWGID program.
Since the program is taught in English, applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency at upper-intermediate level (B2).
Applicants must have:
- a certificate confirming the results of an internationally recognized test (or a certificate of qualifications corresponding to the "English 6/English level 2/English B" course from a Swedish secondary school, which meet the upper-intermediate level B2, or
- a certificate of higher education completed in English
Deadline: 10 September, 2026
The management reserves the right to extend the deadline for enrollment and to postpone the start of the master, respecting the deadline for its conclusion. Only failure to activate the Master gives the right to be refunded of the amount paid.
Students in possession of a qualification obtained abroad will be able to send the enrollment application only after completing the form and receiving confirmation of the suitability of the qualification from the Welcome Office.
Inside the form, in the "Course chosen at LUMSA" section, they must select the following course: M1 Law and Gender, Intersectionality and Diversity – LAWGID.

In order to access the LUMSA students services it is mandatory to first register your personal data at the link: Mi@Lumsa (https://servizi.lumsa.it) → Registration.
At the end of the registration, you will receive a login and password to access your personal profile. Without registering it will not be possible to validate the enrollment.
How to submit the application

Documents to attach to the application:

registration application duly completed and signed by hand

Copy of a valid identification document and tax code.

For citizens of European Union countries: copy of the European identity card and/or passport.

For non-European citizens, a copy of the residence permit or a copy of the appointment at the Police Headquarters to request the residence permit; copy of passport and visa.

Duly signed self-certification of the university qualification obtained or the relevant certificate indicating the degree grade.

Copy of the receipt for the payment of the fee to be paid upon registration (refundable exclusively in the event of failure to activate/not be admitted to the Master) to be paid by bank transfer to LUMSA – Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A.

BIC/SWIFT – BCITITMM (in the reason specify name and surname and the title of the Master). Registration fees remain outside the scope of VAT, therefore, no invoice can be issued. -
Your photo in JPEG format has the following characteristics: recent, with a width of 35-40 mm, with a close-up shot of the face and shoulders, in focus and sharp; high quality, on a light and solid color background, max 5 MB.
LUMSA may in any case request additional documentation.
