Learning Objectives
The First-Level Professional Master’s Program in Sustainable Development is an action-oriented program designed to equip future leaders with core competencies in sustainability management. The curriculum bridges theory and practical application, combining the study of key environmental systems and infrastructures with modern data tools. It explores global trends, strategic frameworks, and emerging technologies that drive sustainable innovation. The program culminates in a Capstone Project (thesis), during which participants address real-world challenges to propose actionable solutions that protect global ecosystems while creating long-term organizational and societal value.

Admission Requirements

• Degree Requirements & Credit Eligibility: No specific academic background or professional experience is required. Anyone can take part in the program to gain skills. However, to officially receive the final Master's Degree title and the corresponding ECTS credits, applicants must hold a university degree that meets the specific LUMSA criteria that will be illustrated during the enrollment process: Bachelor Degree, Master Degree or Degree before DM 509/1999 (old system)or another University Degree obtained abroad officially recognized.
• Document Verification & ECTS Access: If the applicant is interested in the Master's Degree title and the corresponding ECTS credits, they will be requested to submit documentation related to their academic career to verify and validate their degrees. This validation is a mandatory step to officialize eligibility for the Master's Degree and the corresponding ECTS credits. Please note that the candidate is responsible for all administrative and procedural costs associated with the degree recognition process.

Degree/Certificate issued

Graduation & Certification Requirements: Eligible Students* will receive the degree of Professional Master’s program in Sustainable Development (first level). In order to graduate, students are required to attend at least 70% of the classes and complete a thesis (capstone project). All other participants who meet the attendance (70% of the classes) and thesis project completion criteria but do not hold the necessary entry titles will receive an official EIIS Certificate of Completion.
